PA Alpha Delta continues to distinguish itself among Pi Lam chapters. At the 2012 convention in Richmond, Virginia our chapter garnered an alarming number of awards topped off by Outstanding Chapter Operations. They also received Certificates of Achievement for Fraternalism, Philanthropy, Risk Management, Alumni Relations, Athletics, Campus Engagement, Scholarship, and Housing.
No offense to the chapter, but is this one of those arrangements where everyone gets a trophy? I don’t remember getting this many awards… wait, make that any awards from the IHQ. I’m not sure, but there may have been additional awards for meritorious texting and exemplary Facebook liking. Congratulations fellas!
Brothers also garnered individual accolades at convention. Recent alum Malcolm Kenyatta ’12, received the Rafer Johnson Upsilon Achievement Award for his dedication to athletics, scholarship, service to the community, college, and Fraternity. He joins Robert Linzer ’63 and Joe Trautwein ’87 in an exclusive club of PA Alpha Delta brothers who achieved this distinction since the award was established in 1959.
Finally, kudos to Ryan Overturf ‘07, who received the Outstanding Chapter Advisor Award. The chapter would certainly not be where they are without his guidance, leadership, and spirited encouragement (i.e. liberal use of profanity).
